The Toyota Automobile Museum was opened in 1989 in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Toyota Motor Corporation. The main exhibits at the Toyota Automobile Museum are about 160 vehicles from around the world,We have been substantially renewing our regular exhibits since 2016. Our purpose is to present the history of the automobile in a more approachable manner, and to show how the interaction between Japanese and foreign carmakers stimulated and accelerated the evolution of the auto industry throughout the world. Following the 2016 renewal of the second floor exhibits in the main building, we renewed the third floor exhibits in January 2017. Previously dedicated to Japanese-made automobiles, the third floor exhibits now include foreign automobiles as well, focusing on the advancement and breadth of postwar motorization in Japan, the U.S., and Europe. The new presentation demonstrates how automobiles in Japan, the U.S., and Europe evolved, as well as how each country was inspired by its interaction with the others. We intend to put some more vehicles on display and make further improvements to the exhibits. The second floor of the annex is to become our new Cultural Exhibition Area, where selections from our vast collection of car-related books and posters will be displayed. After enjoying the show, visitors are invited to relax in our café. We host a variety of ad hoc events, as well. The twice-yearly Toyota Automobile Museum Classic Car Festival and demonstration runs of the vehicles in our collection are also conducted on a regular basis. These events are all designed to help enrich the automotive culture shared by those who attend them. 41-100 Yokomichi, Nagakute City, Aichi Pref. 480-1118, Japan
